Can’t see the light for the tunnel
Can’t hear over my mouth runnin’
Breath a thing of the past
Feeling left with the last gasp
If You promised You’d carry me,
Why am I trippin’ on my own feet?
This life is too much work
To be gone is desired first
Love is putting down one foot
And then dragging the other
It’s unknown how or why
But my chin is raised high
Your song quenches my thirst!
At last doubt bursts!
Laughter and life rise from Thee!
Love for Your people is all I see!
All care upon You is cast!
Despair’s power is dashed!
Can’t see the tunnel for the light!
Can’t speak, Your voice fills the night!
